Seityasen: We gave our hundred percent

NorthEast United FC suffered a massive setback against Delhi Dynamos FC at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday after a 2-1 loss in the 2015 Hero Indian Super League. Seityasen Singh netted to get his side back on track after going behind to a Robin Singh strike. In the end, however, a late strike from Gustavo dos Santos was enough to see Delhi become the second team to book a semis berth. Seityasen shared his thoughts on the game shortly after the match in an exclusive interview with indiansuperleague.com. Here are excerpts.

What would you like to say about the team’s performance?

The team gave their one hundred percent. Everyone worked hard but the result wasn’t in our favour. Quite disappointed.

How did you feel scoring your first Hero ISL goal?

It was Delhi who scored first and then I equalised a few minutes later. My goal was very important for the team because after levelling the scores we could go ahead, searching for the winner. Therefore, I feel very happy about scoring that goal.

NorthEast United FC have eight different goal-scorers this season. How does it feel to be a part of that clique?

It feels good to rub shoulders with good, experienced players in the team.

What would you say about NorthEast United’s chances of making it to the semis?

Our chances are bleak. But we have to win the next game and keep on fighting.
