Lenny Rodrigues will be looking to take to the field for his ninth appearance in the Hero Indian Super League 2016 for FC Pune City when they pay a visit to NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday. The midfielder has been a steady presence in midfield for the Stallions, winning sixteen tackles and also finding the back of the net once. The 29-year-old spoke exclusively to indiansuperleague.com ahead of his side’s clash against the Highlanders and shared his thoughts. Here are excerpts from the interview:You have peaked just at the right time. What has changed and what was missing in the start? For me when we lost the match against Chennai, we realised that we need to cope up the strategy and believe in ourselves and know that we’re all together, everything will be alright.NorthEast has one of the best defensive records. How are you planning to break that?Last time we lost against them (1-0 in Balewadi), so this time we have to give our best and play for three points.Your thoughts on the league with all eight teams fighting for the semis?I think for me FC Pune City are the best. We can go further if we win tomorrow’s match.Too many goals conceded by your team. Is it a concern for the team?Yeah, every time we are conceding goals we are lacking concentration. So maybe in the upcoming match our defence will be good. What are you expecting from tomorrow’s game? For me we will give our best. The boys are ready to fight because three matches are remaining, so we have a very good chance to qualify. So, tomorrow’s match is going to be very exciting.Your feelings on scoring in the last match?I’m always excited. It’s not about me, whether I score a goal or not, but it’s for the team.
