FC Goa suffered their sixth defeat of the season when they lost to Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Tuesday evening. The Gaurs went ahead through a beautiful header from Rafael Coelho but lost the plot after the break. Gregory Arnolin got the red card and Kervens Belfort did the rest from the spot. Things got worse for the visitors when Richarlyson was also shown red and then CK Vineeth scored in the last minute of injury time to propel Kerala to fourth position in the standings. Gaurs striker Robin Singh, who was replaced in the second half after injury, spoke to indiansuperleague.com and shared his thoughts on the defeat. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
What are your thoughts on the match?
I’ve got plenty to say but I’m not going to say anything. It’s all about the next game and we must look to get the three points.
Your next game is against NorthEast United FC in three days. How will you go about your training and preparations for the game?
We will look to take the loss on the chin and look forward to the NorthEast game. We have said it before that every game from here on is important, so we will look to focus on NorthEast.
Can you say something about the intensity of the match?
People saw how intense the game was, there were several things that could have been done in a different way but that is not my job, my job is to play and I played. I could have done better, the team could have done better and the referee could have done better. But now this is all in the past.
Are you looking forward to playing your next game at home?
Every game at home is important for us, every game in totality is important for us. Looking forward to playing NorthEast at home, it should be a great game and I hope it’s more intense than today’s game.
