default
NorthEast United will look to register their first-ever Hero Indian Super League win against hosts Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday evening. In the previous four encounters, Delhi came out on top on two occasions, while two matches ended in a draw. The Highlanders have got their best start to the season this year winning three out of four games and look prepared to break the jinx against the Dynamos. Brazilian midfielder Wellington Priori, who has featured in all four matches for the Highlanders this season, spoke to indiansuperleague.com on Friday and shared his thoughts on the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
What are your thoughts on the ISL experience so far?
It’s been great for me to be here. To be honest, we have a lot of talented players, we have a very young team and I hope we go very far in this league.
You’ve got off to a very good start. What do you have to say about that?
I was playing in Korea. I played in Korea just for seven months because I got injured. The football there is very different from here, it is very fast and very tactical but the beauty of the football here is that how talented the players are and they have a lot of skills.
What would be you suggestion for Indian players aspiring to play at the highest level?
I would just like to tell them to believe in their dreams, always work hard for them and I hope to see a lot of Indian players succeeding in life and growing with this league.
You’re playing Delhi next, another team that has been doing well in the league. Do you think this is the toughest match for you so far?
Yeah I think so, they have a very good team. We were watching some videos of them, they have a very good and experienced team. But I hope we do well in bringing home three points for NorthEast United.
