Mumbai City FC succumbed to their fourth loss of Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 after coming out on the wrong end of a 1-0 score-line at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday. Iain Hume scored the only goal of the game in the 23rd minute to secure maximum points for the visitors. Mumbai’s goalkeeper Amrinder Singh spoke to indiansuperleague.com shortly after the final whistle and shared his thoughts on the disappointing loss. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

How difficult was the match?

The match was quite tough. Playing against Kerala Blasters FC is always difficult. But as you may have seen, the team dominated throughout. There was an error in the first half and I think that was the only chance they got and they made it count.

What do you make of the missed chances?

Mumbai City FC dominated from start to finish. Even at the end, we struck the post. Credit goes to Kerala. They were compact and good defensively.

Did the presence of so many away fans tonight make a difference?

No, not really. I personally am happy to see that Kerala have so many fans and that the stadium was almost full. I don’t think that plays a huge role because you saw how we played. We just couldn’t get a goal.

What must you do next to finish in the top four?

After seeing our performance in this game, I think we need to stay focused, calm and follow the coach’s plan and give our best in the games to come
