Kerala Blasters FC drew their third successive Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 game on Sunday after Mumbai City FC held them to a 1-1 draw at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. The Blasters did however manage to score their first goal of the season, and it came from their Dutch forward Mark Sifneos. Kerala’s goal-scorer spoke to indiansuperleague.com post match and shared his thoughts on the game. Here are excerpts:
Hard to draw the game in the end like that. What are your thoughts and reflections on the match?
I think we should have done better and kept possession. We got the first goal, which was what we had hoped for. After that, we played a little sloppy. For us, we should have kept the ball better.
Would you say it was a tale of two halves?
I think the first 15 minutes we were better. We pressed a lot and had some chances, some corner kicks and freekicks, and then we had the goal. I think after the goal it was a 50-50 match. Both sides had chances.
Good to get on the scoresheet yourself. A bit about your goal?
It was a great attack I think from the beginning. The combinations, the through ball, and then it was a good finish.
Lastly, next up is your first away game against Goa who are doing quite well. Do you think it is going to be tough playing away from these fans?
Yes of course it is going to be tough, because playing here is always a pleasure. It will be a difficult match of course because Goa is a good team.
