FC Pune City did many things tonight. They won their third game in four matches, recorded their first away victory, and in the process condemned league leaders Atlético de Kolkata to their first defeat in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) here at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Indiansuperleague.com caught up with Konstantinos ‘Kostas’ Katsouranis, who scored a stunning goal to put his side up 2-0, for an exclusive post-match interview. Kostas, who was also awarded the Swift Moment of the Match, has featured in all of Pune’s games so far, and has been instrumental in getting his team to the third place in the ISL.How do you feel beating Atlético de Kolkata at their home ground? I think we had a good game, and we deserved to win. We played better than them; we’re playing better in every game, and we’ll try to win the next game too. It’s early in the tournament and I think we can be very good towards the end.How does it feel to be in the top half of the ISL table? It’s like I’ve said before, we’re a new team. We’ve had some difficult moments in the start, but now we’re better and we’re improving with every game. The training we do every day has been good, and our position in the table is a result of the same. What about the three goals your team scored today? It obviously is a good feeling when you score. I would like to congratulate my teammates. Football is the best sport in the world because it makes a lot of people happy. The fans are happy, we’re happy, and congratulations to the whole team, and everybody who works for the team.Your goal – did you intend to hit the target or was it just a shot?I always intend to hit the target, my friend! I saw the goalkeeper and I tried to shoot, as I always like to shoot from this distance. So I took the shot and the ball went where I wanted it to go.The Greek World Cupper will be hoping to continue the rich vein of form he has been in as his team heads back to Pune to host second-placed Chennaiyin FC on November 11.
