Kamara: Proud of win against Mumbai

The 2015 Hero Indian Super League has reached fever pitch and NorthEast United FC’s Diomansy Kamara has also hit top gear. The attacker scored in the 85th minute to help the Highlanders to a 2-0 win against Mumbai City FC at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on Friday evening. It was Kamara’s second goal of the season. He spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and discussed his team’s prospects in the league. With the three points from the match, NorthEast moved up to the fourth position. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
You are back in semi-final contention with the win. What are your thoughts on that?
We’re proud of today’s result. What we played today was a tough game against Mumbai. All of us played together which is why we won this important match. We have to keep pushing till the end.

What’s important is to help the team win. I have to thank the physio for helping me as well as the entire team who put on a good performance today.
Do you think NorthEast have improved a great deal of late?
NorthEast have a strong squad which is working very hard with the technical staff and medical staff fully behind them. Moreover, playing at home in front of such loving fans feels amazing. We know we can do well and we need to reach there [semis], taking one step at a time.
