FC Pune City bowed out of the 2015 Hero Indian Super League after a 1-0 defeat by Chennaiyin FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune on Saturday evening. With 15 points from 14 matches, the Stallions ended their season in seventh place, just above Kerala Blasters FC. Defender Roger Johnson, who had his moments of brilliance in Pune’s disappointing campaign, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and expressed his disappointment. Here are the excerpts from the interview. What are your thoughts on tonight’s game?Tonight’s result was better than when we had been away from home. They came with a game plan just to get through to the final four. They didn’t come at us like they had in the previous game. We wanted to win this for us, the staff, the owners and of course the fans. I’m disappointed that didn’t happen. After starting off well initially, what went wrong in the season?I would have preferred a few games away from home early on. After winning the first few games at home, we thought it would be easy later on but it wasn’t. We’ve got ourselves to blame for that. We fell short."I’ve very much enjoyed my time here."Roger JohnsonWill you be back for the next season?I don’t know, I haven’t been asked by anybody yet! There’s a long way to the next season. I’ve very much enjoyed my time here. This is totally different to what I’m used to. I’m hurt that we could not go through to the semis but I’m sure next year will be a better season.
