Sandesh Jhingan put in a solid shift for Kerala Blasters FC during their 0-0 draw against Chennaiyin FC in the 2016 Hero Indian Super League on Saturday. At the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, the Indian international completed one successful tackle and made seven clearances for Kerala. The draw also was their third clean sheet of season and keeps them in fifth position with nine points from seven games. Jhingan spoke to indiansuperleague.com shortly after the game and shared his thoughts on the goalless draw. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Do you think it was a fair result?
I think it was a fair result because it was a game of two halves, first half they dominated us they had more clear chances, while in the second half we had better chances. We wanted to win today because we had good momentum as we had just won an away game against Goa but it’s okay, as a point away is a good result. We must carry the momentum in the next game against Delhi and hopefully we will get the goals there.
You said you created a lot of chances in the second half, do you think there is something lacking in the team?
If you’re not creating chances then you are lacking something, if you’re creating chances, everything is perfect. Only the final touch is lacking and it’s just a matter of time. We are playing good football that’s what matters, we are doing the right things getting the ball out wide and playing good football, so things will fall into place, we just have to perform.,
Do you have any message for the travelling Kerala fans?
The fans are amazing, I just want to say ‘I love you all’. They have been amazing to us since the day Kerala Blasters started. We wanted to get three points but it’s okay. Hopefully, in the next game we can get the three points.
