FC Pune City will aim to end their Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 season on a high with a home victory over rivals Mumbai City FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on Sunday.

Ahead of the highly-anticipated Maharashtra Derby, Pune's Iain Hume shared his thoughts on the Stallions' season so far and the upcoming encounter. Here are the excerpts.

What has Phil Brown brought to FC Pune City? A word on his tactics.

Well, he took over from Pradyum Reddy and he has already changed everything. Admittedly, we had a poor pre-season. We weren't prepared for this season. And, I am not ashamed to say this but, we made a few mistakes at the start of the season and once Pradyum took over, he rejuvenated the whole squad. Everyone started playing with a belief and freedom that anything is possible. For the most part, we have so much to be proud of. When Phil (Brown) came in and he took over the reins from Pradyum, he'll admit that he took over a formation and squad full of confidence and he has kept that train going. Since Pradyum and Phil Brown came in, I think we have lost two matches and we had one bad match. So, Phil has come in and he has kept that belief going. The atmosphere has been positive and you can ask any of the players, Indian or foreign, they have such high respect for him.

Thoughts on the match against Mumbai City FC.

We are without Marcelinho (Marcelo Pereira) and a couple of other players. Marcelinho has been massive for us in scoring goals but we have proven that we can fight without him. We played very well against NorthEast United FC. So, I think that has eased a bit of headache for the head coach, knowing that other players will try, step up and take over that position. But, Mumbai City FC also have been a top side this season. They have been brilliant all season. What we know is that it's not going to be an easy match. But we want to win every match. There is a little bit at stake here as it is the derby. The fans, the people, the Maharashtra derby. It is a big one. We let ourselves down in the first leg in Mumbai. So, coming to this one, we have a lot to fight for.
