The Bengaluru FC juggernaut rolled on at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, with an impressive 4-1 loss inflicted on visitors Delhi Dynamos FC on Sunday. It wasn’t a good outing for the Lions’, with skipper Kalu Uche’s penalty in the dying minutes being the only moment to cherish. Post the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Dynamos’ Curacaon recruit to find out his views on Delhi’s first defeat of the season. Here are the excerpts.

A disappointing result. What are your thoughts on the game?

It was a good opponent and it was difficult for us to play football. When the match started, they had already put pressure on us and they created chances and scored while we couldn’t find the free man.

You personally kept reaching the final third with a lot of attacking intent, but it lacked finishing for some reason. How difficult was it to face the Bengaluru defence?

They had a good defence. They had the experience to find each other and cover for each other. When I pressed the opponent, there were a lot of bodies in the box, and it was difficult to find spaces.

What are your thoughts on the fans? Was it intimidating to play in this atmosphere?

No, no. Of course it is different to play away than at home, but they supported their team well and for me personally, it was a motivation to lift the team up and prove the audience wrong. But today, Bengaluru came out as winners, and for the supporters it was a good night.

Your next three matches are at home. How confident are you about that?

In the first match, we showed what we are capable of. For us, it was a short period until this game, because we had only three days to recover. But we cannot complain. Now we have time to recover and see what our mistakes were. There is nothing better to wish for than three home games.
