Kerala Blasters FC left it a little too late as they rescued a point against Mumbai City FC in Match 47 of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) at the DY Patil Stadium on Thursday evening. Both sides were looking for a win but eventually settled for an entertaining draw. Hosts Mumbai took the lead in the first half and were pegged back by Kerala in the dying minutes of the second, courtesy another Antonio German strike. It was German’s fifth goal of the season and indiansuperleague.com caught up with the Englishman shortly after the match for this exclusive interview:How does it feel to score a goal and help your team gain a point? It’s always good to get on the score-sheet but the fact that we drew the game is a loss to us basically. We needed to win the game and disappointed that we couldn’t.What does this mean for Kerala Blasters FC’s qualification chances?I don’t know if it’s mathematically out [of the question]; all I know is we needed to win all three games and this is a loss to us. I think we have to just re-build for the next season really. You have lost Sanchez Watt through injury. What does this mean for Kerala’s attacking force? To be honest, we’re still scoring goals you know. We’re still one of the highest scorers in the league and we’re playing good football. We just have to keep going. Two games left, we still have to put in performances in those two games whether we are out or not.Was the crowd support today and throughout the season for Kerala morale-boosting?It’s the best! Win, lose or draw they have always been there for us. For me, even when I missed six games through injury they were always there to show their support. [They are] probably the best fans in India and I’m sorry that we couldn’t progress.
