Gadze: Zambrotta's half-time talk inspired Delhi comeback

Richard Gadze had a field day in Delhi Dynamos FC's 3-3 draw against Mumbai City FC in the 2016 Hero Indian Super League on Tuesday evening. Playing in front of home supporters at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the Ghanaian at last came good as he scored a goal, provided an assist and earned the Lions a penalty in the last few minutes of the game to ensure his team didn't lose from 2-0 and 3-1 situations. Gadze, who was adjudged Hero of the Match for his mesmerising performance, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the Dynamos' third draw in four matches this season and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Great comeback today, what are your thoughts on the game?

I'm very disappointed because right from the beginning of the first half we were very relaxed and very passive and that led to us conceding those goals. It's okay because we came back and equalised, which is very good for us.

Do you think you will be taking this momentum forward because this is a massive morale boost for your team?

For me, I think we have a good coach, a good technical team and we keep improving. In the next game, I think we will be able to do better than we did today.

What were head coach Gianluca Zambrotta's words at half-time when you were two goals down?

We have a good coach who speaks football all the time. He said we should just forget how we played in the first half and concentrate on the second half because in football 45 minutes is a long time and we can definitely improve. I think it really helped us.

You had a good game today on a personal level. Do you think you can take this momentum forward and score more goals in the future?

I'm a team player, I think of helping my team rather than scoring. But if I score more goals it'll help the team.
