Dhanachandra unhappy with defence after loss

Chennaiyin FC suffered a 2-1 defeat in their 2015 Hero Indian Super League match against NorthEast United FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday evening. With the defeat, the Super Machans moved down to seventh in the table. Chennaiyin defender Dhanachandra Singh spoke to indiansuperleague.com and shared his thoughts on the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

What do you make of the game?

Really disappointed with the result. We were leading in the beginning but because of our silly mistakes, we conceded two goals. I’m not at all happy about that.

What are your thoughts on the chances created by Chennaiyin FC in the match?

We were a bit unlucky today. We created quite a lot of chances today but could not convert them. Today was NorthEast goalkeeper TP Rehenesh’s day.

"I still believe in myself and the team."

Do you think rain played a vital part in the game?

Yeah, it disturbed us a lot. The ball would come on to us very fast and the field got a bit too heavy. So it became very difficult for us to play in that situation.

With an away game now, what strategy will you be following to keep your team in the top 4?

I still believe in myself and the team. We will make it to the top 4. And for that, we need to look ahead to the next game [vs Atlético de Kolkata on November 18] and get those three points.
