Dejan Lekic: Have to find a way to recover and bounce back

Reigning champions Atlético de Kolkata lost 3-0 to Chennaiyin FC in the first leg of their 2015 Hero Indian Super League semi-final clash at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on Saturday. ATK now face an uphill task in the second leg at home on December 16 against a team that has won all their last five matches. Kolkata’s Serbian striker Dejan Lekic, who has scored one goal this season and came on as a substitute to replace an injured Borja Fernandez, spoke to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive chat shortly after the game and reviewed the loss. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Disappointing result tonight. What are your thoughts on the match?

We came here to get a good result. I’m disheartened by the 3-0 loss. We will have to find a way to recover and bounce back.

"I think we’ll have to turn on the attack from the word go."

With ATK now playing at home (the second leg), do you think the home support will be an advantage?

Kolkata does have a fantastic crowd. Now, once we go back home, we’ll have to work on our performances and like I said, find a way to bounce back.

How differently are you going to approach the next leg now?

I think we’ll have to turn on the attack from the word go.
