Atlético de Kolkata’s Goan midfielder, Cavin Lobo, got his first taste of action today, as he was given a start by manager Antonio López Habas in place of injured marquee signing Luis Garcia. Lobo grabbed the opportunity with both hands and ensured that he and the Kolkata supporters everywhere had a match to remember as his brace ensured a 1-2 comeback victory for his team and bragging rights for still being unbeaten in the Hero Indian Super League. Lobo spoke to Indiansuperleague.com after the match. Here are a few excerpts from the exclusive conversation:How do you feel, coming to Goa and beating the home side? It’s a great feeling for me playing in Goa, obviously, and scoring two goals against Goa. The supporters are always there to encourage me, so it was really great.Which goal do you prefer the first or the second? The second, of course! It was a very ill-tempered match, what was your experience of it?Our focus was on the match, and our concentration was on winning. Of course, fighting is not part of a match, but it happens, with the passion surrounding a game. The match was tough but we overcame it and emerged winners.Your team is at the top of the table, how do you feel about that?Yeah, it’s just been four games and it’s still a long way to go so we shouldn’t be over-confident. But we’ll still try to give our best and play the same. The ISL has done a lot for Indian football as you can see, do you see it progressing?Yes I do, it’s given Indian footballers an opportunity to give their best and expose football to others. The foreign players also have a lot to teach the local players.
