Baljit Sahni is by far one of the most versatile players in the Hero Indian Super League. Atlético De Kolkata’s 27-year-old utility man has played as a forward, defender and even midfielder in his side’s matches in the league stage. He came in today as a second half replacement for defensive midfielder Rakesh Masih and notched his second goal of the tournament in his team’s 2-1 defeat to Mumbai City FC at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday night. The former JCT striker who later joined East Bengal, had mixed emotions after the defeat as he settled down for a short post-match interview with indiansuperleague.com.Here are some excerpts:It was a tough game but you still got a goal, how do you feel about that?Today is also my wedding anniversary so I’m feeling very happy to score; but it’s sad that we couldn’t win this match. You were on top of the table and favourites to qualify but that hasn’t happened yet, so what’s the road ahead for Kolkata? We still have a chance if we beat FC Goa at home; it’s in front of our fans so we will make it to the semi-finals.Goa have been on a hot run of form, so do you have anything plans for them?Goa have been in good form and the momentum is with them; it will be a tough match but we will give our 100 per cent. What are your thoughts about the final being played in Mumbai? The crowd is amazing and they cheer for their team at every game, so it’s good to play with this type of atmosphere. What do you have to say about the team’s performance?I think everyone played really well, we all gave our 100 per cent, but it’s hard luck. You know, every time the referee is very harsh with us since the beginning.Do you think there’s a reason for that? No, I don’t think there’s a reason for that, but all I can say is that we’re suffering because of the referee.
