Anto delighted after Kerala win on return

Coming from AFC Cup participation, Rino Anto proved to be the lucky charm for Kerala Blasters FC as they recorded a 2-1 win against FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Tuesday evening. Rafael Coelho put the Goans into the lead early into the game but then red-cards to Gregory Arnolin and Richarlyson brought the hosts back into the game. Kervens Belfort scored from the spot after Arnolin’s exit and then CK Vineeth, another player returning from the AFC Cup, scored following the departure of Richarlyson. With the win, the Blasters moved up to fourth in the standings. The 28-year-old Anto, who didn’t get the opportunity to showcase his skills for Kerala on Tuesday, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match and shared his thoughts on the win. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

What are your thoughts on coming back and winning in Kochi?

This win takes us up to a higher position and now we will do our best in the upcoming matches. I would like to thank all the people who have come here and supported us.

You are coming back after your heroics with Bengaluru FC in the AFC Cup. Tell us about that and also about coming back to KBFC…

We tried our best in the AFC cup but unfortunately we lost, but we are looking to win the ISL now with Kerala Blasters.

Are you looking forward to putting on this Kerala jersey and playing soon?

Yes, I am. It’s a great feeling, we are very happy with the three points and now we are looking forward to the next game. Also, my best friend scored the winning goal, so I’m even happier.

What are your thoughts on the goal?

He was in the right place at the right time and so he scored.
