Keenan Almeida will be looking to make his fourth start in Hero Indian Super League 2016 when FC Goa host Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Sunday. The local boy from Goa has looked solid in defence for the Gaurs this season having completed one successful take-on, three blocks, five interceptions, five successful tackles and 10 clearances so far. Almeida spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of Sunday’s clash against the Lions. Here are the excerpts from the interview. There is plenty of pressure to win the next couple of matches after four points in six matches. How are you dealing with this pressure personally? As of now we would like to take one game at a time. We are not in the best situation but we can still do it, it’s not impossible. If you see the standings, you’ll see everything is still close, so we just need to win a couple of games and we will be back in it.The team has had a couple of rest days, do you think this will be an advantage going into the match?Yes definitely, after the Mumbai match we had just two days of rest and then played Kerala here, now we have had a longer rest period which will definitely help us.Delhi are known to play good football, what are your thoughts on their team?Delhi are a good team, they have been performing well, and they have good players so we have our plans for them. We would like to take the game to them.Marcelinho and Richard Gadze have been in good form for Delhi, are they going to be a major threat tomorrow?I wouldn’t say ‘major threat’ because all the teams have good players, we need to deal with it, set our plans for them and I think we will be able to cope with them.Delhi play attacking football, do you have any specific plans for the match? If you see in the ISL, most of the teams play attacking football. I think it will be the same basic plan, which will be to go out and play our game there.
