The thirteenth match-week of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 wrapped up after Sunday’s double-header and it brought with it mouth-watering encounters, late drama and a landmark goal. All victories this week were attained by a one-goal margin, with only one team netting more than once. The week also saw this season’s 200th goal being scored, and of course, three playoff spots still remain up for grabs.

Here’s a lowdown on how the matches fared and the factors which made the week entertaining.

Match 72: NorthEast United FC 0 – 1 Delhi Dynamos FC (Match Report)

Match73: FC Goa 0 – 1 Chennaiyin FC (Match Report)

Match74: Bengaluru FC 1 – 1 FC Pune City (Match Report)

Match75: NorthEast United FC 0 – 1 Kerala Blasters (Match Report)

Match76: Chennaiyin FC 1 – 1 Jamshedpur FC (Match Report)

Match77: ATK 1 – 2 Mumbai City FC (Match Report)

Top four remain unchanged: With Bengaluru FC already having sealed their playoff qualification last week, FC Pune City had a chance to ensure the same when they took on the Blues at Bengaluru. They even took the lead through Sarthak Golui but could not hold on to Bengaluru’s pressure as Miku scored the equaliser to share the spoils. Chennaiyin FC won one and drew one of their two fixtures. The win against Goa stabilized their top-four status but they could not go above third as they had to grind out a draw against Jamshedpur FC, who are right below them at fourth.

FC Goa’s wait and woes continue: The Gaurs failed to find the back of the net for a second consecutive time, as they found no answer to Inigo Calderon’s goal when they welcomed Chennaiyin FC home at Goa. It means that they are still stuck on 99 Hero ISL goals and are yet to keep a clean sheet this season. They have been winless in their last four encounters and currently occupy the sixth position in the standings.

Wellington Priori nets season’s 200th: The 200th goal of this season was a strike befitting the mega milestone. When Jamshedpur FC went to the den of Chennaiyin FC, Wellington Priori scored a stunner to open the scoring. He struck a sweet volley from outside the box in the 32nd minute that found the bottom corner of the goal, taking the opposition by complete surprise.

Kerala, Mumbai keep their hopes alive: Kerala Blasters FC and Mumbai City FC both needed maximum points from their remaining fixtures and both took a step in that direction. Kerala Blasters FC had Wes Brown to thank for, as he netted the winner in the 28th minute against NorthEast United FC, while Mumbai City FC rode on strikes from Marcio Rozario and Rafa Jorda to overcome ATK in Kolkata. Kerala and Mumbai finished the week at fifth and seventh position respectively.
