50-goal mark
The 2018-19 season of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) has showered us with plenty of goals so far. The league reached its 50th goal in the tie between ATK and Chennaiyin FC. ATK would go on to win 2-1 with goals from John Johnson and Kalu Uche, heaping further damage on the defending champions. Up until match 22, a total of 63 goals have been scored with an average of 2.86 goals per match.
Dorronsoro’s heroics against Chennaiyin

Francisco Dorronsoro produced one of the performances of the campaign so far during Delhi Dynamos’ draw against Chennaiyin FC. The Spanish custodian conjured up a string of incredible saves to keep out Chennaiyin from collecting all three points. Incidentally, the tie was the first and only goalless stalemate of the campaign so far.
Flurry of goals in Goa
FC Goa played their first two home matches of the season this week at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Gaurs made sure that their fans didn’t go home disappointed as they registered 9 goals in two games. The first was an overwhelming 5-0 victory over Mumbai City FC followed by a frantic 4-2 thriller against FC Pune City. If these results are anything to go by, we could be in for many more memorable nights in Goa.
Penalty misses and red cards
Over the past seven matches, three players missed crucial penalty kicks. Rafael Bastos fluffed his lines for Mumbai City against Delhi, while Emiliano Alfaro and Slavisla Stojanovic also failed to convert from the spot against Goa and Jamshedpur respectively.

This week also saw an unusual number of players being sent-off with Mislav Komorski, Diego Carlos and Ferran Cormominas all receiving their marching orders for reckless challenges.
