Delhi Dynamos’ Hans Mulder is confident of his team’s chances as Hero Indian Super League 2015 (ISL) reaches a lively level. The Dutchman, who returned to the Delhi fold to skipper the side after a highly impressive showing in the first season, believes his team has what it takes to go all the way. Speaking to indiansuperleague.com in an exclusive interview after the match Mulder evaluated his side’s prospects of winning the league with the addition of big players like Florent Malouda, John Arne Riise and their marquee player-cum-coach Roberto Carlos.
“I think the names that you say, it’s a lot of quality, a lot of experience. I think we’re a better team than last year and that can only give great results and to learn a lot from these guys with a lot experience and have played for very, very big clubs,” said Mulder.
The 28-year-old is delighted to be back for the second edition of the Hero ISL. When asked what it was like to return to India’s biggest footballing extravaganza, Mulder enthused: “It feels amazing, it really feels like my second home. Last year’s been amazing, the supporters, the ambience in every stadium and I’m really happy to be back in Delhi and together the great support they gave us in our first home match
.”Delhi Dynamos FC bounced back win against Chennaiyin FC after losing their opener to FC Goa. They currently sit sixth on the table but can move up to the second spot with a win against FC Pune City on Wednesday. Mulder is determined to better their performance of last season having missed out on qualification for the semi-final stage by a point.
When quizzed on what his expectations from the season were, Mulder said: “My explanation is very easy. I came back to Delhi this year to win the trophy, nothing more, nothing less. I think we have a squad to win against anybody. We need to be focused and do everything that we did in the game against Chennai, then we can make something of it this year.”
