Delhi started the game on the front foot, making inroads into the Pune defence until they slammed right into two men in charge- defender Bruno Cirillo and Goalkeeper Emanuele Belardi. The Juve Reunion For Trezeguet David Trezeguet led the line against the team led by his former Juventus strike partner- Alessandro Del Piero. A gruelling battle was on the cards.
Both teams strived hard to boss the mid-field. In a game that saw end to end Football for most part of the match, it is no surprise that the best midfielders called the shots in the game.
Delhi tried increasing the potency of their attacks in the 30th minute, by introducing marquee player Alessandro Del Piero. But the experienced defensive duo of Bruno Cirillo and Daniele Magliochetti were up for it.
Emanuele Belardi was the star of the show as he saved everything that Delhi had to throw at him. Nothing could please him more that starting the campaign with a clean sheet in an Away game!

The most lively Indian player on the pitch was Lenny Rodrigues- by a distance! His tendency to counter attack by linking up the play saw us creating some really good chances.
