The first edition of the Hero Indian Super League is almost breathing down our necks, and exactly 10 days from now, we will be playing our first match in Delhi. While Trezeguet has played in three World Cups with France and was a winner in 1998, Kostas led the national team of Greece into the World Cup as recently as this year!5. The Italian Job: We play our first match against the Delhi Dynamos and it is time for an Italian re-union. Under coach Franco Colomba, the Italian centre backs Bruno Cirillo and Daniel Magliochetti are relishing an impending duel with Alessandro Del Piero.6. Like Father, like Son: There will be two Colombas trying to guide FC Pune City to glory this time -- coach Franco Colomba and his son in the midfield, Davide Colomba!7. Many Nationalities, One Cheer: The FC Pune City team is a mix of world class players, hailing from no less than nine nations. Apart from European powerhouses Italy and France, we have players from Burkina Faso, Colombia, Greece, etc!8. The German Shepherds: The Indian players in the team have grabbed the opportunity and the appreciation of their foreign teammates with both hands! Thanks to their speed, Lenny Rodrigues and Israil Gurung have been named the ‘German Shepherds’ of the team!9. The Kashmir connection: Patrolling the midfield is the muscular general from Kashmir, Mehrajuddin Wadoo. A player known to take on the odds, Wadoo lost touch with his family while training with the team in Fiorentina, Italy. However, he soon established a connection with them!10. Being Curious: Despite all this, the biggest question mark is probably about when Bollywood hero Salman Khan will make an appearance.
