Hyderabad FC – G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium

The G.M.C Balayogi Athletic Stadium is the home of Hyderabad FC, who make their debut in the Hero Indian Super League 2019-20 campaign. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 30,000 people, with the football field surrounded by synthetic athletic tracks.

The ultra-modern stadium has a cantilevered roofing system as well as the latest high-mast lighting for day-night events, providing obstruction-free viewing for all spectators. Incidentally, the football field was the venue for the 2003 Afro-Asian Games. It also holds a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for having 2,800 Kuchipudi artists performing on the turf on 26 December, 2010.

The Fatorda Stadium, officially known as the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, is the home ground of FC Goa. Established in 1989, it has also acted as the home ground of Hero I-League clubs Dempo SC, Salgaocar FC, Churchill Brothers SC, and Sporting Clube de Goa.

It has hosted India’s qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup and the AFC Asian Cup. After its renovation for the 2014 Lusofonia Games, massive attendances have been recorded at the stadium. The noise in a number of games, including the inaugural Hero ISL’s semi-final encounter between FC Goa and ATK as well as the final against Chennaiyin FC the following year, was deafening. It was also one of the six host venues for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi serves as the home ground to two-time Hero Indian Super League runners-up, Kerala Blasters FC. Perhaps one of the loudest stadiums in India, Kerala records capacity crowds for almost every home game, making for a stunning sea of yellow.

Constructed originally by the Government of India in 1996 as a football stadium, it has also been used as a cricket ground by both the Kerala cricket team and the national side.

The Nehru Cup International Football Tournament in 1997 was the first tournament conducted here. The stadium has received several plaudits owing to its modern turf, contemporary roofing, and four-lane road from the southern side of the stadium. It was one of the six host venues for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India. The venue received the Best Pitch of the Season award in 2018-19.

Home to ATK Mohun Bagan FC, the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan is the biggest football stadium in India and one of the most iconic stadiums in the world. It hosted the final of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup and was the most successful of the six chosen venues. The stadium has played host to important athletic events like the 1987 SAFF Games as well as friendly matches featuring Lionel Messi with Argentina against Venezuela and the legendary Oliver Kahn in his farewell game for Bayern Munich against Mohun Bagan.

Home to Delhi Dynamos FC, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is a massive enclosure. It has held large-scale entertainment events as well as other sports like athletics and football.

Established in 1982, it hosted the Asian Championships in Athletics in 1989 and the Commonwealth Games in 2010. It was also the venue of Baichung Bhutia’s farewell match against German heavyweights Bayern Munich. The Hero Indian Super League has witnessed home fans coming in large numbers over the past five years to support Delhi Dynamos FC, making for a truly electric atmosphere in the national capital. Huge crowds also thronged the stadium to back the Blue Colts in the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India.

FC Pune City’s home ground, the Balewadi Stadium, is part of the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex. It has served as the home ground to former Hero I-League club Pune FC in the past and has hosted many matches for the Indian national team.

The prestigious Federation Cup was co-hosted by the Balewadi Stadium and Kolkata’s Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in 2011. The Pune crowd is very passionate when it comes to sports, especially when it is football; and the ‘Orange Army’ show their support by continually filling up the stadium to back their team.

NorthEast United FC - Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium

The Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati acts as the home ground of the Hero Indian Super League’s NorthEast United FC. Used mainly for football, it has also had its fair share of athletic events.

A one-tier stadium with roofing over the main stand, it hosted the 33rd National Games of India. Further upgrades like bucket seats and a refurbished media and broadcast box were recently added as well. It was one of the six host venues for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India. The stadium regularly sees full-capacity crowds whenever the Highlanders are in action.

Home to two-time ISL champions Chennaiyin FC, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium which has played host to several sporting events like football, athletics and cricket.

Established in 1993, it also houses a multi-purpose indoor stadium for volleyball, table tennis and basketball. Fans have turned out in thousands to support Chennaiyin FC in the past five seasons and have generally been entertained with some high-scoring and exciting football matches.

The Mumbai Football Arena is housed within the Andheri Sports Complex, a multi-purpose sports facility. Established in 1988, the complex has been used for national level sports tournaments like boxing, karate, squash, and tennis. It also features an Olympic-size swimming pool and in 2016 was redeveloped to include a football stadium in accordance with FIFA guidelines. With a capacity of almost 8,000 seats, the arena became the new home of Mumbai City FC from Hero ISL 2016 after the first two seasons were played at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. It also hosted the Hero ISL 2018-19 final between FC Goa and Bengaluru FC.

Bengaluru – Sree Kanteerava Stadium

The Sree Kanteerava Stadium is home to Bengaluru FC, who made their Hero Indian Super League debut back in the 2017-18 season. It is a multipurpose stadium but is mostly used for football matches hosted by the Blues. It features two outdoor rock-climbing walls, a running track, a football field, and a volleyball court. The vociferous West Block Blues, Bengaluru’s devoted fan club, create an enjoyable atmosphere in the stadium having seen several memorable nights unfold before their eyes in the stands with the team being spurred on by their support. The 2017-18 Hero ISL final between Bengaluru FC and Chennaiyin FC was held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

The JRD Tata Sports Complex is home to Hero Indian Super League newcomers Jamshedpur FC, who made their bow in the fourth edition of India’s unrivalled football championship. It’s the largest stadium in Jamshedpur and is multipurpose, available for athletes to train and hone their skills. Although primarily used for football, it also facilitates several other sports, including athletics, basketball, tennis, and volleyball. São Paulo Football Club from Brazil and Mohammedan Sporting Club have squared off in an exhibition match at the stadium in 2006.

Established in 1978, the Kalinga Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located at the heart of the city of Bhubaneswar in Odisha. The state-of-the-art complex features facilities for athletics, football, field hockey, basketball, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, wall climbing and swimming. The stadium has a capacity of around 15,000 and in the past few years, has been the venue for several high-profile sporting events, which include the Men’s Hockey World League finals, the AIFF 4-nations Women’s Hero Gold Cup, the first two editions of Hero Super Cup, and others. The venue has also been used in the Hero ISL back in 2017-18 season when Jamshedpur FC played a home match at the Kalinga Stadium against Bengaluru FC. With Delhi Dynamos FC moving base to Odisha and being rechristened as Odisha FC, the Kalinga Stadium will act as the team's home ground for the 2019-20 season.
