Punjab FC defender Denechandra Meitei was not involved in the club's first Indian Super League game in 2024/2025. The last Indian Super League game that Meitei played came on March 4, 2023 for Odisha FC versus Mohun Bagan Super Giant; a meeting that he played 34 minutes in during a 2-0 defeat. Punjab FC play host to Odisha FC on September 20 the next time they are in Indian Super League action. Meitei switched to Punjab FC in July 2022 from Kerala Blasters FC, for whom he made nine league appearances in total.
