Bojan Djordjic
Midfielder
Bio
The son of a footballer, Bojan Djordjic, began his career as a youth player in Serbia, before being spotted by Manchester United scouts and brought to their academy in 1999, at the age of 18. He won the club’s Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in his first season there. However, first-team opportunities were limited and he spent the majority of his Manchester United career on loan spells with other clubs, including one season with Serbian powerhouses Red Star Belgrade, where he scored his first senior goal and helped the club achieve a league and cup domestic double. After a permanent move away from Manchester United, Djordjic had spells for various clubs across Europe. He had an injury-plagued and short spell with Rangers, who would go on to win a league-and-cup double that season, before winning league titles and domestic cups with both AIK in Sweden and Videoton FC in Hungary. The 32-year-old attacking midfielder, who has developed a reputation for being a set-piece specialist, will hope his track record of success continues in India.
