Reputed to be the joint tallest goalkeeper in professional football, clocking in at 6’10”, the 27-year-old Belgian has forged a successful career in his home country. He made his breakthrough at minnows KV Kortrjik following which he was hired by Belgian giants Standard Liège. But due to lack of game time he went back to Kortrijk and made 31 appearances for the club as they qualified for the European playoffs held at the end of the season. From there, he moved to powerhouse Genk, where he got a taste of European football with a handful of Europa League appearances.
