Jakob Vanlalhlimpuia is a native for Hnahthial, Mizoram, where he spent the early part of his football career. He was later called for the Indian national teams’ U-17 camp, shortly after which he signed for the Shillong Lajong Academy. While plying his trade at the top of the Mizoram Premier league with Chanmari, Jakob signed for Hero ISL side FC Pune City just before the start of 2018-19 season.
