Bio
David Trezeguet is undoubtedly one of the best French strikers of his generation. Trezeguet is of Argentine descent and thus despite being born in France, he began his professional career at Argentine club Atlético Platense. He then transferred to French side Monaco in 1995 where he formed an attacking partnership with French compatriot Thierry Henry. Trezeguet guided Monaco to Ligue 1 glory in the 1997-98 campaign, finishing as the league’s top-scorer.
Following his stint at Monaco he moved to Italian giants Juventus for a transfer fee of £20 million. In the first season itself he made 25 appearances for the club finding the net 14 times. He led Juventus to the Serie A title in 2001-02 scoring 24 goals which also enabled Champions League qualification for the club next season. Trezeguet scored 8 goals as Juventus made it to the final of Champions League, losing to rivals AC Milan on penalties. After 10 years at the Italian side, scoring a total of 135 goals in 245 appearances he left for newly promoted La Liga side Hercules CF.
He spent a year at the Spanish club and moved to UAE-pro league team Baniyas SC. His contract was terminated in December by mutual consent and he moved to his native country Argentina signing for River Plate.
Trezeguet played three World Cup for France. France won the 1998 World Cup and were runners up in 2006. He also represented his country at the 2000 and 2004 UEFA Euro championship. He also scored the winning golden goal for France against Italy in the Euro 2000 final.
