Abhishek Ambekar began his professional career with Air India FC, before joining Mumbai Tigers and then the erstwhile Mumbai FC. His big break came during the 2017-18 season when he was signed by Hero I-League club Minerva Punjab FC, before moving to Mohun Bagan AC for the 2018-19 season. He joined Quess East Bengal for the 2019-20 season, making 10 Hero I-League appearances, and will be making his Hero I-League debut with the club in Hero ISL 2020-21.
