Bio
André Clarindo dos Santos, commonly known as André Santos, started his football journey with Brazilian side Figueirense before honing his skills with Flamengo, Atlético Mineiro and Corinthians.
In 2009, he moved to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe where his attacking skills and overlapping runs came into the forefront. He made some telling contributions from the left side, scoring and creating goals. The left-back can also play the role of a left midfielder, and he notched up 10 goals and 2 assists in 55 appearances in Turkish Süper Lig. Arsenal snapped up the highly-rated left-back in 2011. He represented the north London club on 33 occasions.
At the national level, André Santos was initially considered the heir to the throne occupied by Roberto Carlos. He represented the 'Seleção' in 24 matches, and was a part of the 2009 Confederations Cup, 2010 FIFA World Cup, and 2011 Copa America squads.
