An academy product of traditional Belgian powerhouse Genk, this left-footed defender spent most of his early senior career in the second division, first in the Netherlands and then back in his homeland. He was a key member of the OH Leuven side that earned promotion to the Belgium first division for the first time in the club’s history, at the end of the 2010/11 season.
