Kerala Blasters FC, on Wednesday, announced the signing of goalkeeper Bilal Khan Hussain. The 24-year-old joins Kerala on the back of a stellar Hero I-League 2018-19 campaign with Real Kashmir FC, where he won the 'Best Goalkeeper of the I-League' award.

Born in Uttar Pradesh, Bilal played for a host of clubs like Churchill Brothers, Mohammedan, Hindustan FC before signing for FC Pune City. He, however, never made a Hero ISL appearance for the Stallions. For the 2017-18 season, he was loaned out to Gokulam Kerala, for whom he made 10 Hero I-League appearances.

The 2018-19 saw him go out on loan again, to newly promoted Hero I-League side Real Kashmir. The towering custodian flourished for the Srinagar-based club, keeping nine clean sheets in 19 appearances. His heroics were integral to the Snow Leopards finishing third in the Hero I-League in their debut season.

In Bilal, Kerala has procured one of the best emerging goalkeeping talents in the country and the youngster will be eager to make his mark between the sticks in the 2019-20 season under the tutelage of head coach Eelco Schattorie.
