Jorge Pereyra Diaz set to leave Mumbai City FC after two fruitful seasons
In his two-year tenure with the Islanders, the Argentine forward played a vital role, aiding his team in capturing both the League Shield and the ISL Cup.
Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Mumbai City FC have announced the departure of their Argentine forward Jorge Pereyra Diaz. The forward will leave the Islanders after two successful seasons, following the expiration of his contract on May 31, 2024.
After an impressive first season with Kerala Blasters FC, Díaz joined Mumbai City FC ahead of the 2022-23 season. In both seasons, Díaz was instrumental in helping the Islanders secure silverware, as the team won the ISL League Winners’ Shield in 2022/23 and subsequently the ISL Cup in 2023/24.

Diaz has been a regular feature in his two seasons with the team, making a significant impact at the club. In 53 appearances for the side, the forward found the back of the net 27 times and registered 10 assists for the Islanders.
Diaz notched 11 goals in his first ISL season, helping his side secure their second League Shield in an unprecedented way. In the following season, the forward continued to play a pivotal role in the team despite missing several matches due to injury.
Diaz scored the equalizing goal in the ISL Cup final against Mohun Bagan Super Giant, with Mumbai City FC clinching the title through a remarkable comeback.
