Indian Super League (ISL) side Mohun Bagan Super Giant breezed past the Border Security Force FT in the Durand Cup 2025 at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan on Monday.

Liston Colaco maintained his goal-scoring form with yet another brace, while Manvir Singh and Sahal Abdul Samad found the back of the net as the Mariners recorded two wins in a row.

MBSG enjoyed the ball possession from the outset with Anirudh Thapa, Manvir, Colaco, and others. The hosts got their first chance through Thapa in the 12th minute, but the midfielder couldn’t keep his shot on target.

Jose Molina’s men broke the deadlock in the 24th minute thanks to Manvir’s towering header. Thangjam Roshan Singh played a quality ball inside the box, and Manvir made no mistake in slotting it home to put his side ahead in the game.

Despite chances at both ends late in the first half, MBSG headed into the break with a 1-0 advantage.

The Mariners doubled their advantage early in the second half. Samad and Colaco combined well in the final third, and the latter found the far corner with a precise finish to make it 2-0.

MBSG scored the third goal within the next five minutes. It was Colaco once again who rattled the net to complete his brace with a stunning solo goal.

The Kolkata giants showcased their offensive prowess and created numerous clear-cut chances during the phase. Samad also found himself on the scoresheet with his 61st-minute strike to make it 4-0.

Alberto Rodriguez had a great opportunity to increase their lead in the dying minutes of the second half, but the defender’s powerful attempt was parried away by the opponent's keeper.

With six points from two games, MBSG matched Diamond Harbour FC’s tally but sat second in Group B on goal difference.

The Mariners will take on current group leader Diamond Harbour FC in a potential group decider on August 9.
