ATK FC have announced the signing of Spanish defender Victor Mongil Adeva for the second half of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20 season.

The 27-year-old centre-back is a graduate of Real Valladolid’s B team and played in Spain’s fourth tier before eventually moving to Atletico Madrid’s B team where he made 50 appearances across three seasons. For the next few years, he played for different third-division clubs in Spain like CD Alcoyano, Merida AD, Pontevedra CF, and Levante B.

Mongil’s most recent stint was with Dinamo Tbilisi in Georgia, where he played every league match, helping keep 14 clean sheets in 36 games. Mongil's side eventually clinched the title, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round in 2020.

He joins a team which has the second-best defensive record in the Hero ISL so far, with the likes of Pritam Kotal and Prabir Das a key part of the defensive set up.
