22 players arrive for Khalid Jamil’s first senior national team camp in Bengaluru
Jamil starts his tenure as India head coach as he prepares his team for the CAFA Nations Cup in Tajikistan later this month.

Newly-appointed Indian football team head coach Khalid Jamil took charge of his first preparatory camp for the CAFA Nations Cup on Friday. A total of 22 players have reported so far with training scheduled to begin in Bengaluru on Saturday.
Jamil earlier this week signed a two-year contract with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), which also includes an option for a one-year extension.

India have been placed in Group B of the tournament and will travel to Tajikistan for their group stage fixtures. The Blue Tigers will face the hosts on August 29, Iran on September 1, and Afghanistan on September 4. The third-place playoff and the final are set to be played on September 8, in Hisor and Tashkent (Uzbekistan) respectively.

Jamil’s team will later play two key AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifying matches against Singapore in the October window, scheduled for October 9 and 14.

Goalkeepers: Amrinder Singh, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Hrithik Tiwari.
Defenders: Akash Mishra, Alex Saji, Boris Singh Thangjam, Chinglensana Singh Konsham, Hmingthanmawia Ralte, Rahul Bheke, Roshan Singh Naorem, Sandesh Jhingan, Sunil Benchamin.
Midfielders: Ashique Kuruniyan, Danish Farooq Bhat, Nikhil Prabhu, Rahul Kannoly Praveen, Suresh Singh Wangjam, Udanta Singh Kumam.
Forwards: Irfan Yadwad, Lallianzuala Chhangte, Rahim Ali, Vikram Partap Singh.
