NorthEast United FC host FC Pune City in their penultimate match of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 campaign on Wednesday. Sitting in third with 27 points on the board, the Highlanders are possibly just a win away from making the playoffs- something not many could have imagined 12 months ago.
Ahead of that match in Guwahati, indiansuperleague.com caught up for an exclusive interview with NorthEast player Lalthathanga Khawlhring. Here are a few excerpts.
What is the mood in the camp?
Very good. Right now, we have two more matches. I think we can make history for NorthEast United FC.
Have you worked on anything specific to improve your home form?
No, nothing different. It’s football. Sometimes it can happen. Sometimes we win, sometimes draw and sometimes lose. It’s not about home or away, it’s just about football. It can happen.
How do you take FC Pune City as an opponent?
Just like any other team. We have a good game plan.
