Mumbai City FC bade adieu to club legend Bipin Singh as the curtain fell on his seven-year illustrious stint. A player who wore the badge with pride and purpose, Bipin leaves behind a legacy written in goals, grit and golden moments.
Since joining the club in 2018, Bipin has been a cornerstone to MCFC's affluence in the Indian Super League (ISL) over the years. From his electrifying runs down the flank to his proficiency in finding the back of the net in high-stakes fixtures, the dynamic winger was not only a proven match-winner but also one of the most influential players in club history.
With Bipin calling time on his journey with the Islanders, jersey no. 29 will continue to shine in MCFC folklore, as the club decided to retire the number in honour of his contributions. Most appearances as an Islander
Bipin has made the most appearances for Mumbai City FC in the ISL (129). He is also the only one to play 100+ ISL games and feature in 150+ games across competitions for the Islanders.
Since making his debut in October 2018, Bipin has bagged 25 goals and provided 11 assists over the years. His 36 goal contributions are the second most by any player for MCFC (40—Lallianzuala Chhangte) in league history.

Four-midable records in Mumbai colours
Bipin’s journey has been extraordinary since joining the Islanders from Kolkata. With his decisive goals and impactful assists, the Manipur-born footballer was an integral part of Mumbai City FC’s starting 11 and was a livewire on the wings.
Bipin has been a linchpin in MCFC’s remarkable success in the ISL. MCFC won both the League Shield and Cup title twice, and the winger played a pivotal role every time.
A sensational hat-trick
Bipin scored his maiden hat-trick against Odisha FC in the 2020-21 season. The Islanders staged an epic comeback to storm past the Kalinga Warriors with a 6-1 scoreline, despite trailing by 0-1 earlier in the game.
He struck once in the opening half and twice in the second half, completing his first hat trick with Mumbai City FC. Bipin was MCFC’s highest Indian goalscorer in the 2020-21 campaign.

2020-21: A season to remember
Bipin enjoyed a fantastic 2020-21 campaign where he recorded his career-best numbers with six goals and four assists to his name. The winger was at his very best, powering Mumbai City FC to become the first side to complete an ISL double.
He played a pivotal role that season, where he not only made crucial goal contributions but also created 30 chances, adding a significant dynamic to the Islanders' style of play. He also registered 63 touches in the opposition box, attempted 15 successful dribbles, won 50 duels, and completed 73 recoveries, playing a versatile role at both ends of the pitch.
Goals in the ISL Cup Finals
Bipin’s knack for turning up in title-deciding matches made him a fan favourite. He scored in both the 2020-21 and 2023-24 ISL Cup finals. Incidentally, both of his goals in the ISL final came against the same opponent, Mohun Bagan Super Giant.

His 90th-minute winner in Fatorda in 2021 and his 81st-minute strike at VYBK in 2024 are forever etched in the hearts of Islanders fans—moments that brought goosebumps, pride, and tears of joy.
Bipin’s two ISL final goals are the joint-most by any player in the league. He’s also one of only three players to have scored in two different ISL finals, a testament to his clutch mentality on the grandest stage.
