NorthEast United FC have announced their third international signing of the upcoming Hero Indian Super League (ISL) season with the capture of Colombian youngster Jose David Leudo. The midfielder joins the club after the arrivals of Bartholomew Ogbeche and Juan Cruz Mascia earlier this week.

Leudo started his career in Columbia with Boyaca Chico in 2009, before going on to represent a clubs from Uruguay and Argentina over the next five years. He then returned to his country as a part of Deportivo Pasto in 2015, making a total of 42 appearances over two years.

NorthEast United will be the 24-year-old’s first venture in Asia and Indian football. The Highlanders have had a strong summer transfer window, signing a host of talented domestic and international players.

Under new head coach Eelco Schattorie, NorthEast will look to rid themselves of the disappointment of the previous campaign and come back stronger in 2018-19. They begin their Hero ISL campaign with a home encounter against FC Goa on October 1.
