Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18’s last match week of the year kicks off from the 28th of December, but before that the players enjoyed the brief break that came with the Christmas holidays. After a month of toiling it out on the field and giving their all for their respective teams, this was a time where the players could cool their heels and have light moments with friends and families, away from their rigorous training regimes.

We take a look at what some of these players were up to during the festival of hope and happiness.

Mumbai City FC’s hitman Balwant Singh, who is the team’s top scorer in the ongoing campaign, reminded his Twitter followers about his roots, clubbing it with the red-and-white festivities of the day.

Kerala Blasters FC local boy CK Vineeth said it with a grab from the Nativity scene. The divine Creche was seen in his Instagram post.

Vineeth’s teammate Dimitar Berbatov kept it simple on his Instagram, a well-lit Christmas tree serving as a warm backdrop.

Meanwhile, defending champions ATK’s custodian Debjit Majumder knew what his taste buds wanted during Christmas!

Sticking to goalkeepers, Islanders’ shot-stopper Amrinder Singh spent his holidays with his family back at home.

Chennaiyin FC topped the table heading into Christmas, with the Mizo Sniper having played a part in delivering the goods! Little wonder he was jovial when he wished his fans on Twitter.

ATK’s new signing Jayesh Rane recently got his first start for the two-time champions, and like a good son, he was at home for his father’s birthday.

Jamshedpur FC’s Ishfaq Ahmed was another happy man as he gleefully opened his gift, his incisive unwrapping skills coming to the fore.

His teammate Sameehg Doutie spent the festivities with the team, feasting together on the auspicious day, and also wishing in the Indian way!

FC Pune City’s Jonatan Lucca also enjoyed the day with his teammates including Emiliano Alfaro and Marcelinho, as he posted this happy picture on Instagram.
