Delhi Dynamos FC had another goal-laden outing in the third match of their preseason schedule ahead of the upcoming Hero Indian Super League (ISL). After 3-0 and 9-0 wins in their first two games, against Garhwal FC and Hindustan FC respectively, the Dynamos strolled to a comprehensive 7-0 win against Kolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting, with braces each for Danish forwards Mads Junker and Morten Skoubo and a goal apiece for midfielders Hans Mulder of the Netherlands and Pavel Eliáš of the Czech Republic, as well as one from Indian left-back Robert Lalthlamuana. The first half was a relatively quiet affair with Delhi Dynamos enjoying the majority of the possession and creating a few chances but failing to put them past the Mohammedan keeper, until Mulder’s opener. The Dutchman was the standout player of the half, and his goal in the 36th minute was the difference between the two sides at half-time. Delhi resumed the second half on the front foot, with star Mizo winger Shylo Malswamtluanga rattling the woodwork with a rasping shot. “Mama”, as Shylo is affectionately known, then played an integral role in the second goal, setting up left-back and fellow Mizo Lalthlamuana for a 57th-minute strike. The floodgates opened soon after as Skoubo opened his account and then Junker and Eliáš scored in quick succession. The two Danes rounded off the scoring in the last few minutes of the game, with Junker scoring a thundering shot from 20 yards out in the 88th minute and Skoubo following up two minutes later with a thumping header.Manager Harm van Veldhoven has seen his fearsome attack score 16 times in their last two games alone, and a total of 19 from three preseason friendlies. The Dutch manager will be equally delighted with the performance of his defence, which has yet to be breached. The ‘Dutch method’ is certainly proving to be a hit in the national capital!
