Delhi Dynamos FC visits the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa to take on FC Goa in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 on Wednesday. The Lions’ chances of making the playoffs are already over, but they have found some form of late and would look to carry that into this fixture as they aim to uproot themselves from the bottom of the table. Romeo Fernandes is a Goa local and has plied his trade for the Gaurs during the first three seasons of the Hero ISL. This season however, he has switched to the colour of the Lions, and will be looking to create an impact against his former side. The25-year-old winger spoke to indiansuperleague.com and shared his thoughts on the eve of the encounter. Here are the excerpts.

How does it feel taking on your former side?

I have been playing with them (FC Goa) since the very beginning and have been learning a lot from them. But now I am a Delhi player, and I have also learnt a lot from my team-mates here, and I hope to play well against Goa.

Will there be mixed feelings playing against your former team?

No. When you play against your former team, it is great. I have an opportunity to give my best and prove myself in my hometown.

Do you think Delhi can upset Goa’s chances of reaching the playoffs?

Yes, of course. When we play, we always play for the win, for the three points. We are also last in the table, so a win matters a lot.

How does it feel being part of the Delhi Dynamos squad?

Delhi is a good team. They have chosen me, and have given me good facilities. They have given me lots of things.
