ATK travel to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa to take on FC Goa in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 on Wednesday. The defending champions are winless in their last seven encounters and are rooted to ninth in the league table, with no hope of making it to the playoffs for the first time in their history. Their 27-year-old forward Robin Singh will be playing against his former club to ensure ATK finish the season in a positive way. Prior to the encounter against the Gaurs, he spoke to indiansuperleague.com and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts.

How much have you improved as a player this season?

Every year is a learning curve as a professional. As far as performances are concerned, I would rather let the critics answer that. And regarding my personal assessment of myself, there is always a lot to do. I would always want to improve. This year has not been the greatest, but I am never going to give up. I am just going to keep on going.

How will it be to play against your former side?

Coming and playing at Goa is always a task. Their fans are very supportive of their team. So, being on the other side, they are going to be hostile to us. And it being a do-or-die game for Goa, they are going to come all guns blazing. But take nothing away from ATK. We are going to be ready for them.

Would you be doing anything different against Goa?

I would say, as each and every individual, we will go and enjoy the game and score whenever we can. We will work hard and if it is our day, the result will be ours.

What are your thoughts on playing under Teddy Sheringham?

He was a great coach. We spend our pre-season and a few games in the league with him. As an individual, he is always humble. He is always open to questions and it was a great experience as long as he was here. He would always be there to help you and talk about how to improve. He has given me a few pointers and I have taken that in. Hopefully, I will get to play under him again.

Any message for the ATK fans?

I have a personal message for them. Thank you for your support and for being there, more so, during my lows. Also, thank you for supporting me and the team. Wherever you are, watch us play against FC Goa and I hope to put in a good performance, if I am playing.
