The Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK), which is commonly known as Salt Lake Stadium, hosts the home games of two of India’s century-old clubs, East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan SG.


Inaugurated in 1984, India’s largest football stadium hosted significant tournaments such as the Pre-World Cup Tournament (1985), Super-Soccers (1986, 1989, 1991, and 1994), 3rd S.A.F. games (1987), USSR Festival (1988), Charminar Challenger Trophy (1992), Jawaharlal Nehru International Gold Cup (1995), FIFA U-17 World Cup (2017), and others.


This stadium organized FC Bayern Munich legend Oliver Kahn’s farewell match, where the German custodian took on the field against the Mariners. The three-time FIFA World Cup champion Argentina national football team also featured in this stadium in a FIFA friendly match against Venezuela back in 2011.
