Hero ISL veteran and Golden Boot winner Bartholomew Ogbeche continues his stay with champions of the Hero ISL 2021-22 season - Hyderabad FC, the club announced his contract extension through their social media handles on Friday.

The striker was quick to add his flair in the Hero ISL in his debut campaign in the 2018-19 season where he scored 12 goals for NorthEast United FC. Since then, Ogbeche has been a powerhouse for several clubs and remains to be one of the most prolific forwards Hero ISL has ever witnessed.

Having contributed to 10+ goals in each of his Hero ISL season, the 37-year-old joined the Yellow and Black at the start of the 2021-22 season after achieving success with Mumbai City FC and Kerala Blasters FC.

Golden Boot winner of the 2021-22 campaign with 18 goals and one assist to his name, Ogbeche also became the all-time leading goalscorer in the Hero ISL history with 53 goals, overtaking Sunil Chhetri while doing so.

An unparalleled asset under head coach Manuel Marquez, Ogbeche’s goalscoring brilliance coupled with his off-the-ball skills have been highly influential for the young Hyderabad side.

The Nigerian remains the only player alongside Ferran Corominas to feature twice on the list for most goals by a player in a single season of the Hero ISL, and is the lone Hero ISL player to be featured in the FIFA Team of the Season in the Rest of the World category.
