Atlético de Kolkata select seven gems of Indian football

~ The Club has already roped in its marquee player Luis Garcia, signed on Borja Fernandes and employed Antonio Lopez Habas as its Head Coach ~

Indian Football has witnessed today the end of day-one of the domestic draft process of the Indian Super League’s inaugural edition, wherein the Kolkata Franchise of the League, Atletico de Kolkata picked up seven players for its squad. Atletico de Kolkata has signed on today Arnab Mondal Mohammed Rafi, Mohammed Rafique, Rakesh Masih, Cavin Lobo, Biswajit Saha and Denzil Franco. The Club will look forward to the day-two of the draft to hand-pick the rest of its domestic players. A total of 42 players were up for grabs today and will see such 42 more tomorrow to choose from. Atletico de Kolkata has already roped in its marquee player Luis Garcia, signed on Borja Fernandes, employed Antonio Lopez Habas as its Head Coach and appointed Jose Ramirez Barreto as the Assistant Coach of the Team. The international players’ draft scheduled next month will feature 49 players.

 Atlético de Kolkata,is the first franchise that was launched from amongst the eight city franchisees of the Indian Super League. The franchise has Atlético de Madrid, Prince of Kolkata, Ex-captain, Indian cricket team, Mr. Sourav Ganguly; notable industrialists and luminaries Mr. SanjivGoenka, Chairman, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group; Mr. Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Groupand Mr. Utsav Parekh, Chairman, SMIFS Capital Markets Ltd as its co-owners.
