Lluis Sastre graduated from FC Barcelona’s youth teams, including two years with the club’s B-team. His impressive performances in the Segunda B saw him being signed by Real Zaragoza. Thereafter he joined SD Huesca on loan before making a permanent move following a promotion clinching season. He spent the next four years in North-East Spain before moving to La Liga side Real Valladolid in 2012. Following a three-year spell with Valladolid, Sastre turned out for Leganes and helped them to promotion to La Liga. He achieved the same feat in his second spell with Huesca. He made his first overseas move in 2018-19 when he joined Cypriot side AEK Larnaca and helped them to a runner-up finish in his first season. The midfielder joined Hyderabad FC ahead of the 2020-21 Hero ISL season.
